La Croisette — visit guide

6 min read·July 1, 2026

La Croisette, decoded

La Croisette is Cannes' 2-kilometer palm-lined seafront promenade — the address of the Carlton, Majestic and Martinez, and the red carpet that runs up the steps of the Palais des Festivals each May. Walkable end to end in under an hour, it is the Riviera's most concentrated stretch of Belle Époque palace architecture, private beach clubs, and designer boutiques.

Por qué alojarse aquí

  • ●Every Croisette palace hotel is a five-minute walk from the Palais des Festivals red carpet.
  • ●Private beach clubs sit directly across the promenade from the hotels.
  • ●Ferries to the Îles de Lérins depart from the Vieux Port at the promenade's western end.

The walking route

Start at the Palais des Festivals and its red-carpet steps, walk east past the Carlton's twin cupolas (said to be modeled on a courtesan's bust) and the Majestic, continuing to the Martinez's Art Deco facade near the marina. Private beach clubs line the sea side of the promenade; the boutique-lined side street (Rue d'Antibes) runs parallel one block inland.

Cannes Film Festival

Each mid-May, the Palais des Festivals hosts the world's most prestigious film festival, and La Croisette becomes a red-carpet runway for two weeks. Hotel rates spike sharply and the palace hotels sell out months ahead — plan around the dates if you want to avoid the premium, or lean into them if the festival is the draw.
“La Croisette in festival week and La Croisette in September are two different streets — plan your dates around which one you want.”

Boat to the Îles de Lérins

Ferries to the Îles de Lérins — monastery islands and quiet coves a short boat ride offshore — depart from the Vieux Port at the western end of La Croisette. A half-day trip is an easy add to any Cannes stay.

Fully walkable end to end in under an hour. From Nice airport: 45 min by car, or the coastal train to Cannes station, a 10-minute walk from La Croisette.

Cuándo visitar

Year-round; avoid mid-May unless the Film Festival is the draw (expect a major price spike). September and October give warm weather with thinner crowds.
