What staying in Alcúdia is actually like
- Location
- Alcúdia old town is a walled centre a kilometre inland; Port d'Alcúdia is the beach and the strip; Cala Sant Vicenç and Es Mal Pas are the quiet coves on the far side of the headland.
- Dining
- The old town has the best of it, especially on market days. The port is resort dining and starts closing from late October.
- Transit
- About 50 minutes from Palma Airport. The coves need a car; the old town and port do not.

Rated 9.8 — the highest score on the bay. A boutique conversion in Alcúdia old town with high ceilings, wooden beams and a spa.
Tip: Some rooms have a private terrace over the spa area; those are the ones to ask for.
La Moraleja El Tranquilo Hotel - Sólo Adultos
The only five-star of the four, at Cala Sant Vicenç, with a heated outdoor pool and original artwork in the rooms.
Tip: It calls itself The Quiet Hotel and means it — there are reading and games rooms rather than entertainment.
Prinsotel Mal Pas - Adults Only
Pine gardens at Es Mal Pas with a tennis court, rated across more than two thousand stays.
Tip: It sits away from the resort strip on the quiet side of Alcúdia — you will want a car or a taxi.
VIVA Golf Adults Only 18+
Beachfront at Port d'Alcúdia, 18-plus, with large gardens and two sea-view restaurants.
Tip: Strictly 18+ rather than adults-oriented, which is not true of everything marketed that way here.
