“Amazing location”

What a great spot. The location was so central, we walked everywhere. The rooms were clean and we appreciated the option to have cleaning every day or skip it to save water and in return for that we got a glass of wine. All staff we interacted with were very kind and helpful. Yes you can get a cheaper hotel away from this central location but staying here is good value and you get to enjoy more of your holiday rather than spending your time getting to places. We didn’t find it noisy at all even though there all cafes and pubs lining the streets all around you. Would definitely stay there again.

“Recently, I experienced racist harassment and a possible attempted robbery in a hotel lobby. Please be careful and stay”

Recently, I stayed at the NH Hotel City Centre Amsterdam. Around 11 p.m., I was feeling bored in my room, so I went to the lobby and asked a staff member if I could use the restroom. She said it was fine. After I came out of the restroom, a man in the lobby approached me and shouted racist insults at me, including “Chinese bitch.” I sat down in the lobby, but he approached me again and said “Hi.” I ignored him, but he continued shouting loudly and made me feel as though I might be in danger. At the time, there appeared to be no staff present in the lobby to intervene. I felt extremely uncomfortable and unsafe inside the hotel. Later, someone apparently reported the incident, and a staff member called my room to apologise. I don’t know exactly what happened or whether there was any connection to the hotel staff, so I don’t want to make assumptions. However, the experience was frightening and unacceptable. If you are an Asian traveller visiting Amsterdam, please stay alert and be careful, especially if you encounter aggressive or discriminatory behaviour.
