“Small on space, big on location, and a great base for our London stay.”
Having visited London several times before, we found Leonardo Hotel London Aldgate to be a great choice for this particular stay, with visually appealing, modern rooms. While the rooms are well presented, they are certainly on the smaller side. This became even more apparent when we checked the floor plan on the back of our door and realised ours was actually the second largest on the floor, yet still felt quite small. The standout feature for us was the location. Aldgate Tube station is virtually next door, making it incredibly convenient for getting around London, particularly as we were visiting for Wimbledon. The hotel is also within walking distance of places that were of interest to us, such as the Sky Garden. The hotel also has a rooftop bar, which staff told us is a popular and busy spot any night of the week, adding another nice option without having to venture far. Breakfast was included and relatively simple, with a choice of four main items alongside pastries and juices. My only real complaint was the coffee. I normally don’t mind adding one, singular sugar stick, but by my fourth, I realised I was essentially having some coffee with my sugar and it was somehow still awfully bitter. I decided it simply wasn’t worth continuing the battle. For its excellent location and convenience, we found the hotel a great base for our stay in London. The reception and wait staff were all genuinely lovely, friendly and welcoming, and made our stay all the better.
