“Great Experience - Will return...”

I have stayed JA Beach hotel & JA Palm Tree many times - but I was pleasantly surprised by my experience at JA Lake View. The staff at reception (I think her name is Jenisha) was very professional and welcoming - she upgraded us to a better room with pool / fountain view. The female supervisor at the reception was also very proactive, helpful & warm. All the housekeeping staff were professional, friendly & warm. All the staff at 81 were brilliant - including Munna, Thiri & Kabil - it was inspiring to see their work ethic & the way they went the extra mile. There was also a female supervisor at 81 (Indian or Sri Lankan) who managed the impatient large dinner crowd on Saturday night very, very well. Wilson at Sports Cafe was proactive, warm, welcoming, swift & brilliant ! Irushi at Sports Cafe was warm & welcoming as well ! Karam at Sports Cafe & La Fontana was also very professional ! All the staff helping with car valet parking were brilliant, professional, proactive & welcoming.

I did not like taking the stairs up & down to the golf carts so I used my car to go back and forth from Lake View to the restaurants & pools at Palm Tree & Beach Hotel and back - that said, engaging with the security staff at the entrance barrier gates of both Lake View & Beach hotel felt like a frustrating interrogation every time.

Unfortunately, our experience at this hotel was quite disappointing. The location is far from the main attractions and shopping areas, and there are very limited options nearby for buying food, groceries, or basic necessities. The hotel does not have a supermarket or even a small shop where guests can purchase essential items. The nearest places to buy food or other necessities are quite far away, which was very inconvenient, especially for a family. Considering the facilities and services provided, I also found the hotel quite expensive and not good value for money. Another disappointing issue was the hotel’s policy regarding basic items. We simply needed an empty plate, but we were told that we would have to pay an extra charge for it. After speaking with the staff, they agreed not to charge us that time, but we were told that if we requested another plate, we would be charged. I found this unreasonable and disappointing for a hotel. The swimming pool was also not clean and clearly needed better maintenance. The room itself was very small, and unfortunately, the floor was extremely dirty. When we opened the extra bed, it had clearly not been cleaned beforehand. The sheets had food particles and hair on them, which was very unpleasant and unacceptable. Overall, the hotel is quite far from everything, the cleanliness was below expectations, and the facilities did not justify the price. I would not consider this hotel good value for money, especially for families. The hotel also only has one restaurant, with a very limited menu and not many food choices. The prices were extremely high, especially considering the location of the hotel and the limited alternatives available nearby. Because there were almost no other options around the hotel, guests were basically forced to either pay the hotel’s expensive food prices or travel a considerable distance just to find more affordable food. I found this very inconvenient and unfair.
