We did not get any instructions to check in, we arrived, the office was closed, we made 20 phones calls to try reaching Daniel to try to establish where to checked in and the info. Once in, we did not have sufficient towels for the number of guests. Also, VERY IMPORTANT the beach is full of seaweed, the smell is horrible and reaches the accommodation plus you can't enjoy nor the beach nor the water. Terrible experience. I recommend you dont book these properties.

The apartment itself was large, spacious, on two levels with two terraces and a small private pool. Great for 4 people and can comfortably sleep 6. The communal pool was quiet and there was always a place to sit - at no time were sunbeds reserved with towels. It was all very clean. There was an incident with a glass door in the apartment, which was badly fitted and spontaneously shattered while we were there. It was cleaned up very promptly by the staff and it did not come out of our damage deposit, thank goodness. Location is good. Close to bars, restaurants, and some small supermarkets. Larger supermarkets like Jumbo and Bravo, and a shopping mall, were only a 10-minute drive away. On-site staff were friendly and helpful, and there is a secure car park behind a locked gate.

Check in was a nightmare. We had difficulty finding the location when we arrived out of hours (7pm), and we hadn't been provided with an access code prior to our arrival. Fortunately my Dominican partner was able to speak in Spanish to the security guards of the neighbouring complexes, who called around various people and we eventually found where we needed to go and were provided with the code. The quality of some of the fixtures and fittings wasn't great. One of the cupboard doors in the kitchen came off its hinges during our stay - fortunately it was just a screw that had come loose and we were able to fix it ourselves. Not the fault of the property, but electricity in the DR is horrendously expensive. £300 for the week - make sure you run the aircon sparingly! There is a beach within walking distance but it was not good for us. Full of seaweed and large parts of it were taken up by beachfront hotels. Macao Beach is a 30-minute drive away but is much better.
