Travel industry term

Bed Bank

A B2B hotel-rate wholesaler that aggregates inventory from thousands of hotels and redistributes wholesale rates to tour operators, travel agents, and closed-channel programs.

A bed bank is a specialized hotel-rate aggregator — Hotelbeds, LiteAPI, Expedia TAAP, and a handful of regional players — that contracts directly with hotels for wholesale rates, then redistributes that inventory via API to travel agents, tour operators, meta-search engines, and closed-channel consumer programs like travel clubs.

Bed banks typically hold 30%+ of global hotel inventory on wholesale terms. Their rates are not visible to consumers on the open web because contracts explicitly restrict public display.

Travel Club's primary bed-bank partner is LiteAPI, which itself aggregates 40+ wholesale sources. This is how we surface rates 30–45% below Booking.com on a consistent basis without negotiating hotel-by-hotel.
