Yotel Miami, Select By Hilton

I’ve never stayed in a room where the bathroom is open in a room. Never was explained that in the description of the booking. I did not like that at all

Great location

Firstly, when checking in we were given no information on breakfast, where the pool was, gym, anything. Stayed in a suite which was meant for 4 people and were given one bed and only 2 towels. The safe was locked on arrival and we had to ask twice for it to be unlocked meaning we had to go out with our valuables just in our room. There was also an inch gap in the ceiling which doesn't fill you with confidence or make you feel secure. Then there was the service. We were given two welcome drink vouchers on arrival. After then having to ask a separate time where these could be redeemed we were told the pool side bar and I explicitly confirmed the opening times with the reception desk. Later on, we went to redeem our drinks and not only did our key cards not give us access we had to travel back down to lobby to be told they had closed the bar early but we could use them in the downstairs bar. Youd think this would be a good thing! After being left waiting for around 10mins standing at the bar (bearing in mind there were only three other parties in the restaurant) I politely said hello to the bartender who abruptly and rudely said something in reply, and that's being polite as he didn't even pay me attention to respond meaningfully. After eventually coming over, I was given my drink. The diet coke was flat and the beer was tasteless but as the night was , probably the best thing about it. As we went to ask reception about breakfast times and any information on it. There was a long queue so I thought I'd ask the bartender. I stood at the bar holding my two year old child, the bartender ignored me to change the channel of the TV and then looked at my in the eye twice before walking off to the kitchen, blanking me. I therefore walked down to the kitchen saying "excuse me" progressively louder, I eventually caught him whilst he was standing in the kitchen.

The room is very well planned. I liked that the shower, toilet, and sink are all individually spaced, which makes the bathroom very convenient and comfortable. The reclining bed was also very comfortable. The room lighting is modern and well-designed. There was a good supply of toiletries, and I especially liked the nice-smelling lotion. I also enjoyed the breakfast buffet, especially the fresh orange juice. The location is perfect as well—just one bus ride to and from South Beach. There’s also a convenient kiosk in the lobby for Uber. Overall, I really enjoyed my stay!
