The Westin Los Angeles Airport

“Hits the spot in every way”

Don’t bother searching for anything else. This hits the spot just right. First off it’s definitely an older hotel but has had the full Westin upgrade. Nothing to fault, modern, clean, big room, good shower and of course the Westin beds! Solo 30 hour trip before a late flight out of LAX. Super easy to do a half day rate, perfect room to relax and re pack, shower, bed….a little touch of luxury before a long haul flight. Double windows, I could maybe hear a low hum of aircraft if I listened really hard. No room service but order at the restaurant down stairs and pick up. Burger pretty an average , good taste, but soggy lettuce and soggy fries. Didn’t have high hopes anyway so wasn’t disappointed. Hit the spot when I was starving. Pool is a perfect little spot with walled garden, well maintained, again some sun and fresh air before a flight. Note: I usually stay at the Fairmont century city if I have 30 hours in LA, but their prices have jumped ridiculously the past couple of years, and I can’t justify that much for a stop over and dealing with traffic to get to and from LAX. For having Fairmont standards, I wasn’t at all disappointed with the Westin LAX and would 100% stay again for this type of travel. Keep an eye on prices, they always drop closer to arrival.

Hotel and front desk staff were great. The airport shuttle service was horrible. We waited over an hour. When it finally arrived, the driver couldn’t be bothered to get out of her seat to put our bags in the bag in the back, so I had to struggle up the steps with it and ask her to give me a hand. “Hi. Can you give me a hand?” Her response was “ at least you said hi, that’s better than your husband or whatever he is did.”

Slowest shuttle service at the airport. Watched 4-5 shuttles for every other airport hotel come and go. Rude unhelpful driver.

I liked the convenience of the car rental place being inside the hotel. I also like the fact my room had been attended to while I was out all day.

Very upscale vibe without a huge sticker price. SO close to the airport it was amazingly convenient, especially for dropping off our rental car!
