The staff was very pleasant and did their best to make our stay enjoyable

Even though we booked through a third party, and the Ruby confirmed the reservation, they couldn't find it when we got there. We did get a room. Also, there was a heat wave at the time, but the rooms were extremely warm. Our refrigerator didn't work either, so the few items we bought for breakfast the following morning couldn't be put in there.

“Great location, quiet, clean facilities!”

I am a loyalist of the Ruby hotels across Europe so was thrilled to stay at this one! It is right next to a train station which makes traveling into central Amsterdam a breeze but retains the quiet, relaxed feel of the neighboring buildings that are full of locals.

My only complaint was that we got lucky and arrived during the exact week Amsterdam was experiencing an unprecedented heatwave. The rooms are not equipped with AC but the property was able to provide us with a small table fan. We also had the black out curtains up pretty much the entire time just to keep the room cool enough to sleep.
