I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience at this hotel was disappointing enough that I feel compelled to share it. After travelling for nearly 30 hours to reach the hotel, I was looking forward to nothing more than a smooth check-in and a chance to rest. Unfortunately, that was not the experience I received. The reception staff were consistently discourteous and unwelcoming. Rather than making exhausted guests feel accommodated, their attitude came across as dismissive and indifferent, setting an unfortunate tone from the moment we arrived. The most frustrating aspect of our stay was the complete lack of communication regarding the fire drills. During our stay, two fire alarms sounded as part of scheduled fire drills. We were given no prior warning whatsoever before the first drill, which was understandably alarming. Even more astonishingly, after the first drill concluded, no one thought it necessary to inform guests that a second drill would follow. Being abruptly awakened twice by emergency alarms after such extensive travel was not only exhausting but entirely avoidable with even the most basic level of communication. Another issue was the lack of transparency surrounding the charges placed on my card. The amount that would be authorised or held was never clearly explained during check-in. Financial matters should always be communicated accurately and professionally, and this unnecessary ambiguity created confusion that could easily have been prevented. It is disappointing because these are not issues of luxury or personal preference, they are fundamental aspects of hospitality. Communication and transparency are the bare minimum guests should expect from any hotel. The only redeeming aspect of our stay was the exceptional housekeeping and kitchen staff. They were consistently polite, and genuinely welcoming, demonstrating the level of professionalism that was unfortunately absent at reception.
