“The hotel was fine; the location could have been better.”
We had been warned that the room would be small, but while smallish it was well designed and we never felt cramped.
We chose the location on the Bowery because we had come to NYC to attend an event held there. The Bowery is still a dicey neighborhood, however -- gentrification rubs shoulders with homelessness, the New Museum with the Bowery Mission -- and it suffers from the disadvantage of being so far downtown that it's a lengthy trek to most of the city's points of interest. (An exception was the Tenement Museum, just a few blocks away, as was Russ and Daughters delicatessen. Brooklyn -- the bridge and the borough -- were near as well.)
