Village vs hilltop estate
Hôtel Byblos is the village's nightlife institution, a short walk from the Vieux Port. Hôtel de Paris Saint-Tropez sits similarly central with a rooftop pool. Château de la Messardière trades village-centre walkability for a hilltop estate above the town, with sweeping views over Pampelonne and more space and grounds than the village-bound hotels can offer.
Pampelonne and beach-club culture
The legendary clubs sit a short drive or boat-shuttle south of the village on Pampelonne beach — Club 55 (understated, since 1955) and Nikki Beach (loud, DJ-driven). Loungers and table service run roughly €30–120 per day. Most Saint-Tropez stays alternate village evenings with beach-club days.

Getting to Saint-Tropez
There's no train station — arrive by car (90 minutes from Cannes, 2 hours from Nice) or seasonal boat from Sainte-Maxime or Nice. The single coastal road backs up for hours on summer weekends; a boat transfer avoids the traffic entirely in high season.
