“A tale of two halves.”

The position is good for the Barican area of London and we were able to walk to the Sky Garden. The room size was good for London and quiet too, despite being on the ground floor. The staff were helpful and had thought ahead to mitigate issues caused by the heatwave. We appreciated being close to reception.

As this is a converted building the corridors were small and rabbit warren like. We found the bed too soft and slightly small. The corner shower, although having good pressure, was challenging to use due to the size of the rain shower.

Air conditioning was not working - this was the main reason we booked this hotel (and paid more than we usually would for one night stopover). We weren't advised of this before we arrived - room hot and stuffy. Bread at breakfast stale - when replaced they were the same. We were advised by waiting staff (who worked incredibly hard under difficult circumstances) that the manager said that that was all they had. Would not stay here again.

Air con could've been serviced and working. Food could've been fresher.

Air conditioning was broken, no fans, agreed refund and it has yet to come through nearly 3 weeks after agreement

Great location near to Liverpool street and a nice breakfast.

Hotel was quite dated though outside of the main reception and our room was unbearably hot. Air conditioning was broken the windows only opened a crack and it meant the room was over 30 degrees to try and sleep which is unacceptable for a room that costed over £160 for the night.
