Grand Canal palaces vs Giudecca's Cipriani

Getting around Venice

Best time to visit / Carnival
Venice Carnival, in February, is one of the city's signature events — elaborate masks and costumes fill St. Mark's Square, and hotel rates rise accordingly. Spring and autumn offer milder weather and thinner crowds than the summer peak, when the city's narrow streets can feel genuinely crowded.
