Where should I stay in south Ibiza for a pool at the end of the season?

South Ibiza means Playa d'en Bossa, Ibiza Town and Talamanca — the flat, warm end of the island, all within ten minutes of the airport. Pools here are large but mostly unheated, so the properties still worth booking past early October are the few that heat theirs.

  • Best for swimming past October: One Ibiza Suites
  • Best for staying in Ibiza Town itself: The Standard, Ibiza
  • Best for a pool day that lasts all day: Grand Palladium White Island Resort & Spa - All Inclusive

What staying in South Ibiza is actually like

Location
The south is the flat end of the island: Playa d'en Bossa runs unbroken sand from Ibiza Town to Salinas, and everything here is within ten minutes of the airport.
Dining
Beach clubs on the sand and the whole of Ibiza Town's marina a short taxi away. In late season much of the strip winds down from mid-October.
Transit
Ibiza Airport is 5–10 minutes by taxi, the closest of any part of the island. You do not need a car unless you plan to cross to the north.

Concierge notes

One Ibiza Suites

The heated infinity pool is the reason this one holds up once the season turns — most Playa d'en Bossa pools are seasonal and unheated.

Tip: The infinity pool is the adults-only one; the seasonal pool on the lower terrace is the family side.

The Standard, Ibiza

Right in Ibiza Town rather than on the strip, so the pool is a rooftop rather than a beach club.

Tip: Rooms are on the small side by five-star standards — the balcony is what you are paying for, so ask for one facing the old town.

Grand Palladium White Island Resort & Spa - All Inclusive

The lagoon pool is the largest on this stretch of Playa d'en Bossa, and all-inclusive pricing holds steady as the season closes.

Tip: It runs an entertainment programme all evening — ask for a room away from the central pool block if you want quiet.

The Unexpected Ibiza Hotel - Ushuaïa Club entrance included

Three outdoor pools and live DJ sets included, adults only. The loudest option here, deliberately.

Tip: The Tower wing is the quieter half of the property; the Club wing sits over the stage.

Apartamentos Vistamar II

Apartments 200 m off the sand with a kitchenette, at a fraction of the five-star rate on the same beach.

Tip: Balconies face either the garden or the pool — the pool side is louder but gets the afternoon sun.

Frequently asked questions

Are the pools still worth it in October?

The air stays in the mid-twenties well into October, but most pools here are unheated and seasonal. If you are booking past the first week of October, look for the properties listed with a heated pool.

How close is south Ibiza to the airport?

Playa d'en Bossa and Ibiza Town are both 5–10 minutes from Ibiza Airport by taxi — the shortest transfer on the island.

Does the strip get quieter late in the season?

Yes. The big clubs run closing parties through late September and early October, after which much of Playa d'en Bossa's beach-club row shuts for winter.
