The Bay of Roses is a long shallow arc at the top of the Costa Brava, closed at its northern end by the Cap de Creus headland with Cadaqués behind it. The water is calmer here than anywhere south.
Dining
This corner of the Empordà is one of Spain's serious food regions — Roses was where elBulli was. Book ahead everywhere.
Transit
Girona Airport is about an hour; Barcelona around two. A car is required, particularly for Cadaqués over the pass.
