“Two Months in Europe: This was the worst hotel ever!”
The location of the hotel is great, but upon arrival we carried our own bags to our room via a very slow elevator. The room was extraordinarily hot, the aircon was blowing warm air and it stank. At first we thought a sewer issue, but no, it was the aircon itslef. We requested a room change. It was not possible that night but we were moved the next day and compensated with a complimentary dinner in the restaurant which was pretty much over after delays getting our room sorted. The following day I needed to retrieve something from the room we had been moved from, but the hotel had given the room to another customer. There was a total neglect of the seriousness with the aircon. I have now read other reviews of this hotel that are similar to our experience, it's an ongoing issue. I am a Broadcaster and very experienced traveller. I cannot recommend SMY, Lisboa.
