I had a truly fabulous stay at the Mondrian Ibiza. From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and cared for. We experienced an issue with our room upon check-in, but the manager, Jaime, handled it immediately and professionally. He upgraded us to a better room and even treated us to a round of drinks at the bar while everything was being sorted out. What could have been a frustrating experience was turned into a great example of outstanding customer service. The entire team made us feel at home throughout our stay, and a special mention goes to Charlie at the bar, who was incredibly friendly and attentive. It’s staff like Jaime and Charlie who make a hotel experience truly memorable. We were genuinely sad to leave and are already looking forward to returning next year. The hotel, service, atmosphere, and overall experience were exceptional—easily a 10/10 stay.

The only minor drawback was that taxis to and from Cala Llonga can be somewhat infrequent, which occasionally led to longer wait times. That said, it didn’t take away from what was otherwise a perfect holiday. Thank you to the entire Mondrian Ibiza team—we can’t wait to come back!

* The lack of proper training of one of the reception staff members. Upon arrival, I was specifically asked to provide a credit card. I normally use a perfectly valid and fully functional debit card, on which the hotel can place whatever security deposit it requires. The receptionist explained that using a credit card would mean the deposit would be released immediately. Unsurprisingly, this was not the case, and at check-out I was told that a debit card would have been perfectly sufficient after all. It is quite frustrating to feel that I need to have access to credit — even in the form of a credit card — simply in order to stay at a hotel. * Getting a taxi was an adventure in itself, and one that the hotel staff seemed to have difficulty managing. Given the hotel’s rather isolated location, I would expect some form of transportation solution to be available, or at least a shuttle service. At one point, we waited for 1.5 hours in front of the hotel. It honestly felt like a scene from a bad movie: whenever a taxi finally arrived, everyone would rush towards it. * The bathroom amenities were extremely basic. There were only large dispensers of soap, shampoo and shower gel, with none of the small essentials you would normally expect from a hotel of this standard, such as cotton buds or similar bathroom kits. * There were no bathrobes in the room, and I had to call reception three times before they were finally provided. * The area itself is peaceful and beautiful, but the location makes it quite difficult to get anywhere else on the island.
