Location and friendly staff

Only had one evening meal in hotel; it was okay but not best value for money. Breakfast was excellent; real variety.

This was our 4th stay at the beautiful Barnathan in the heart of Beyoğlu in Istanbul. It’s a wonderful building full of architectural charm and the staff are friendly and welcoming. All the little touches make a difference, from the little gift bag left outside our door with Turkish delight and other little bits, to making us up a brunch box to take with us the day we checked out, which is why we will definitely go back again! The location is perfect, it’s in the heart of everything, you walk down towards Galata bridge and can pick up a tram to go over to Sultanahmet and literally outside the hotel there is everything from shops to restaurants and cafes, and the historic tünnel tram station. is a few mins walk that helps with the walk back up from Galata bridge. And if you’re a cat lover, well the Meroddi even have timber cat hotels at the end of the street, what’s not to love?

Great hotel perfectly located in the heart of Galata. The staff were very friendly and helpful and my room was spotlessly clean. The enormous breakfast buffet was varied and delicious and set us up for a day of exploring.
