“Disappointing stay”

Apart from the unpleasant smell, the apartment itself was clean. The Wi-Fi was free and worked well. The hotel also arranged a taxi to the airport for us, and we were able to leave our luggage in the locked gym after check-out.

Unfortunately, our stay was very disappointing. We booked a two-bedroom apartment and upon arrival there was a very strong smell of damp, mustiness and mould. The apartment was also extremely hot, probably over 30°C, and it took several hours to cool down. The two bedrooms are not actually fully separated: the walls do not reach the ceiling, I guess so that the air from the single AC unit located above the entrance can circulate throughout the apartment. This means there is very little privacy between the rooms. Also there was no sofabed, only two chairs in front of the entrance, wouldn’t call it a “living room”. The air conditioning only works when the room key is inserted, guests are not allowed to leave it running while they are out. Considering how hot the apartment was when we arrived, and especially the strong damp/mouldy smell, keeping the AC on was really necessary. Initially, a member of staff allowed us to leave it running while we went out for dinner and told us they would open the door for us when we returned. However, when we came back, a different receptionist had not been informed about the situation and told us that we should not have done this. Overall, the communication and handling of the issue were not very helpful. The bathroom layout should also be made much clearer in the listing. The apartment is described as having one bathroom, but it is actually an ensuite bathroom inside one of the bedrooms: anyone staying in the second bedroom has to enter the other bedroom every time they need to use it.

“Super séjour à Playa del Carmen”

Nous avons beaucoup apprécié le Grand Fifty. L’emplacement est parfait, proche de la rue commerçante, des restaurants et de la plage. La chambre est très grande avec coin salon canapé, et coin cuisine équipée. C’est extrêmement propre et le personnel est très sympathique. Un parking sous terrain gratuit est à disposition. La piscine sur le toit, vue mer avec un coin salon couvert et est top.
