“Loved loved loved Amsterdam and Dutch design hotel is an incredible base to stay”
Beautiful setting, close to trams and to the park Free tea, coffee juice and water made a massive difference Staff are exceptional who really went the extra mile to help me.
Rooms are very small ( usual for Amsterdam though Would be nice to have kettle on every floor so get tea or coffee at night rather than having to go downstairs

“Read the reviews before booking.”
The staff were generally very nice and helpful, with the exception of one particularly arrogant and unhelpful staff member. We were given a room that already had poor reviews, including complaints about room 106 as recently as 2025. Unfortunately, the exact same issue happened to us: the bathroom light kept switching on and off throughout the night. As a result, I could barely sleep and was exhausted, which affected and essentially ruined the following day of our trip. What was most disappointing was how the situation was handled. The problem could have been resolved immediately by simply changing our room, but instead, this staff member told us that we should speak directly to his manager. I don’t understand why I, as a paying guest, should have to deal with management myself over a problem that the staff member could have addressed. He eventually took his time to arrange a room change, but the whole experience was unnecessarily stressful, especially as we were there to celebrate my husband’s birthday. Most of the staff were lovely, but unfortunately, this one person’s attitude and the way he handled the situation had a significant negative impact on our stay. Given that the issue with the room had apparently been reported in reviews before, it is particularly disappointing that nothing seems to have been done about it. On top of all this, we had no internet access for our entire stay. Although the staff were apologetic about the situation, there seemed to be no effort to provide any temporary solution or alternative. We couldn’t even watch TV properly, which made the overall experience even more disappointing. While we understand that technical problems can happen, we expected the hotel to make some effort to minimise the inconvenience, especially given that we were already dealing with the issue of the room and the lack of sleep.

No Internet WiFi week 1 ...1st visit for 3 days Week 2 I did not stay at hotel No Internet WiFi week 3....2nd visit for 2 days + Week 1 I was suprised. 2nd visit, week 3, was unbelievable. I could not work effectively at all and had to use my own mobile data.
