“Very pleasant”
The room was spacious and comfortable, with part of the walls painted in cheerful orange colour. Comfortable bed, tea and coffee facilities, an interesting sightseeing bar at the top floor of the hotel. Very good breakfast. Located close to the railway station in Amsterdam's attractive historical area.
I yielded to temptation and accepted the hotel's offer for Eur 46 to an upgrade to a "city view" room. The view (from a room on the third floor) was onto the hotel's facade and a large tree, with a few boats on a canal visible between these two obstacles. It should be called a "city side" room, rather than "city view". I was told by a staff member that this was "unlucky" (that is, there is a division between "lucky" and "not-so-lucky" city view rooms). The view on the hotel's other (industrial) side is just as interesting so I would recommend against accepting any such upgrade offers.

“Average”
The location was great it’s close to everything that you need
The curtain in the room would not close all the way to the wall which made for light coming in which when you picking me up was annoying at times. We also found the room to be quite dusty in places and the toilet was hard to flush
