“Beautiful property but terrible service”

This is such a shame as the hotel is gorgeous. Room is lovely. Aircon worked great. Linens were high quality. Stayed 3 nights in a Tafetan Suite on a cash stay. No points, no upgrades, etc. Pool is too small for the hotel so people sit on the deck making the space crowded and not very relaxing. After waiting 45 minutes for drink service at the pool today, I left the pool and went down to the bar to order drinks. They refused to serve drinks to bring to the pool and told us we had to wait for pool service. The hotel booked a dinner reservation for us. However when we arrived the restaurant didn’t have a reservation for us. So after an hour of standing awkwardly outside the restaurant, the hotel concierge only blamed the restaurant and told us the only options available to us were “risky” walk ins we could try one after the other or “very touristy” places. They didn’t even offer a table in their own restaurant. It turned out the concierge made the reservation in his own name - the restaurant showed us the emails - and so after finally being seated over an hour later, there was no apology or acknowledgement of wrongdoing by from the hotel. Breakfast service is slow similar to pool service. As of 3pm today, housekeeping has yet to come. All in all, it’s just not a luxury property. And when things go wrong, they aren’t around to make it right.

I have stayed at luxury properties all over the world as a Marriott Titanium member, and I can confidently say that the Cotton House Hotel in Barcelona is easily in my top five. From start to finish, the experience was absolutely flawless. The Service: The attention to detail here is unmatched. Every single staff member was incredibly friendly, warm, and attentive to our every need. The Food & Drink: Easily a major highlight of the stay. The bar serves up the most amazing, fresh craft cocktails. Breakfast was an absolute standout—do not miss the eggs benedict or the traditional Iberian jamón with fresh tomato bread. I still dream about it/ The Rooms & Location: Our room perfectly blended modern luxury with gorgeous high ceilings that made the space feel grand yet comfortable. Plus, the central location is unbeatable for exploring Barcelona. I am already counting down the days until I can go back. If you are looking for top-tier luxury and impeccable service in Barcelona, this is it!
