“Terrible”
Overall, my stay was fine, but I had an uncomfortable experience during check-in. While I was being checked in, another member of staff at the front desk loudly whispered to the employee serving me that they should check my immigration status and make sure I had a valid visa. This made me feel singled out and uncomfortable, especially as this is not something I have experienced when checking into hotels elsewhere in the UK. I understand that hotels may have procedures they need to follow, but the way this was handled felt inappropriate and embarrassing. If any checks are required, they should be carried out professionally and discreetly, without making guests feel as though they are being treated differently. I hope the hotel will provide further staff training to ensure all guests are treated with respect and sensitivity.
