How we compare the two prices. Same room, same dates, same cancellation terms. The public price is what that room costs on major booking platforms; the member price is what you pay through The Travel Club. Both are per night for two guests, over a 1-night stay. Star ratings and review scores are supplier-verified. Prices and savings reflect your selected currency and are confirmed live at checkout.

Why do so many hotels concentrate in Platja d'Aro?

It is the only long, straight, sandy beach on this part of the Costa Brava — two kilometres of continuous sand. Everywhere else is coves, which cannot take resort-scale property. That makes it the most family-oriented town on the coast, and the easiest base for driving to the coves.

  • Best beachfront with a spa: Cosmopolita Hotel Boutique & Spa
  • Best boutique, steps from the sand: NM Suites by Escampa Hotels
  • Best rooftop pool: Hotel Planamar by Escampa Hotels

What staying in Platja d'Aro is actually like

Location
Platja d'Aro is two kilometres of continuous sand on the southern half of the Costa Brava, backed by a shopping street. S'Agaró and Sant Feliu are minutes either side.
Dining
The town is commercial rather than characterful. Palamós, twenty minutes north, has the fishing port and the better restaurants.
Transit
Girona Airport is about 40 minutes, Barcelona around an hour and a half. Buses connect the coast towns; a car helps for the coves.

Concierge notes

Cosmopolita Hotel Boutique & Spa

Beachfront with sea views from the pool and terraces, and a spa behind them. Rated 9.2 across nearly 2,500 stays.

Tip: The sea-view rooms and the pool terrace share the same aspect — worth paying up for one.

NM Suites by Escampa Hotels

Steps from the sand, with sleek rooms and views over the beach.

Tip: One of several Escampa properties in town; this is the boutique one of the group.

Hotel Planamar by Escampa Hotels

A rooftop pool over Platja d'Aro beach with a fitness centre and balconies on every room.

Tip: The rooftop pool is the differentiator here — the ground-level facilities are ordinary.

Silken Platja d'Aro

Rated 9.0 across more than three thousand stays, with a pool, terrace and full service.

Tip: The most reliably reviewed property in town; a known quantity rather than a find.

Aparthotel Ciutat de Palol

Apartments with balconies and kitchens in pine forest beside the beach, with a heated pool.

Tip: Self-catering with a heated pool — the option for a family week or a late-season one.
