Benidorm is two bays either side of a headland: Levante is the busy one, Poniente the calmer, and the old town sits on the rock between them.

The Spanish holidays end in early September and the town shifts noticeably. Poniente and the old town are calm from then until the winter-sun crowd arrives.

Levante for the nightlife and most of the adults-only stock; Poniente for a longer, quieter beach with a Spanish crowd. The old town between them is the best of both.

Does Benidorm close for winter?
