Marwin Villa

The rooms were clean and comfy and there were washing machine down the corridor which were handy. Everything was really clean and all the staff were very friendly. There is currently a lot of construction on the top floor and our room was right underneath it, but the staff kindly moved us to the other end, which we were grateful for.

We understood there was a café on site, but there wasn’t - there may have been one on the fourth floor before they started construction, not sure. The construction work is very noisy at the moment. The beds are just mattresses on platforms on the floor. This is great if you’re a youngster but not for people of our age! A sofa in the room would have been nice - there wasn’t really anywhere to sit and relax.

Marwin villa was perfect for us. We started our travelling journey here. Our initial impression of the location was misleading as it was down a small alleyway which was slightly off putting but when we checked in we realised it offered everything we needed: clean, spacious rooms for a great price and in the morning, we were able to realise that it was in a handy location with restaurants and bars around and easy access to grabs for places further afield. Recommend!

“Scam taxi service attached to this hotel… beware”

I liked the location although it was a little hard to find.

I don’t like that there is 1000 cash baht deposit. I was only here for one night before flying back to the states. The most important downside for me was the taxi service through the hotel! The agreed upon price was $500 baht, (for reference I called a grab around 330 baht). When the driver arrived he demanded 1000 baht! I told him absolutely not please cancel, and he said he didn’t have change and I should just give him my full hotel deposit. I would certainly not book a taxi through this hotel as that was a scary experience especially as a solo female. I felt very uncomfortable and am so glad I called a grab instead
