Holiday Inn Express Tampa N I-75 - University Area by IHG

“NO HOT WATER”

If you do not mind cold showers, luke warm at best, it is a good hotel in a good location. I ask front desk to check hot water and they told me they would and get back with me. Never heard back. Also overheard two other guest talking at breakfast about no hot water and they told front desk also and was told it may be because of the cold weather, low was around 40, and that was three days after I let the front desk know. I travel for work and have stayed in hundred of holiday inn expresses and never had an issue with no hot water for more than 1 day. I am on day 7!! Never again.

“Unpleasant and unprepared”

We had a very bad experience because on the app where I booked our stay they asked what time we would arrive and check in was at 3 so I told them to expect us around 3. We got there at 3:20 and they told us it would be like 5 mins till our room was ready they were just putting towels in it. So we waited and watch so many other people come in and get there room keys and head to there rooms. So FINALLY we got our room keys after stilling there in the lobby till 4:35 we got to go to our room. Well when we got to our room there were NO towels even in our room so we asked them for some and it took them over an hour to bring them to us. Then the next morning they said breakfast was from 7 to 10 well we went down around 8 and the whole breakfast bar was completely wiped out no food for us to eat. I heard other guest asking for more food and they were making it but it took the over 30 mins to finally put out some new food for us. I just wish the were a little bit more prepared for the guests. So I had a bad experience because of us going to a concert and wanting to leave the hotel at a certain time but the wait for our room keys made us late for it.

2nd stay and no complaints. Clean and comfortable. Has 3 coffee stores walking distance. Cozy coffee next door has good food and a bar, dont let the name fool you. Minute drive to usf campus.

The staff was excellent! Very attentive and helpful! The rooms were very spacious, clean, and comfortable. The gym was nice as well. The pool looked good but we didn’t get in. The hot tub was out of commission.
