Walking the village
The Via Positanesi d'America, a coastal footpath linking the main beach to the smaller Fornillo beach, is the town's most scenic walk, threading past the church dome and a handful of boutiques carved into the cliffside. Expect stairs everywhere — the town's vertical layout is its defining feature, not an inconvenience to route around.
The beach and boat trips
Spiaggia Grande, Positano's main beach, is lined with sunbed concessions and seafood restaurants at the base of the village. Day boats to Capri — the Blue Grotto and the Faraglioni rock stacks — depart directly from the harbour, typically 45 minutes to an hour offshore.

Getting there
Fly into Naples (NAP), then a private transfer or ferry — there's no train, and the coastal road is slow, especially in summer. Ferries connect Positano to Amalfi, Sorrento and Capri directly, often faster than any road route.
