Not on the quay itself — Puerto Banús is restaurants, shops and moorings. The five-star properties sit back from it along the Golden Mile, the flat four-kilometre stretch of coast running east towards Marbella old town, with the closest about fifteen minutes on foot.

What staying in Puerto Banús is actually like

Location
The Golden Mile is a flat 4 km of coast between Marbella old town and Puerto Banús. Nothing five-star fronts the marina; everything is a walk or a short taxi from it.
Dining
Puerto Banús itself is restaurants and bars along the quay. Puente Romano's plaza is the alternative, with more than fifteen venues in one place.
Transit
About 45 minutes from Málaga Airport. Along the Golden Mile taxis are constant and parking in Banús is difficult.

Gran Hotel Guadalpín Banus

The closest of the five-stars: direct beach access and a short walk into the centre of Puerto Banús.

Tip: The walk into Banús is the reason to book it — you can leave the car and the taxi out of the evening.

ME by Meliá Marbella

Three pools including an adults-only one, and a complimentary spa area with sauna and Turkish bath, on the Banús side of the Golden Mile.

Tip: The Level rooms carry their own services and pool access; the standard rate does not include them.

Nobu Hotel Marbella

Rated 9.2 across more than nine hundred stays, with terraces over the resort plaza and a club on site.

Tip: It sits inside the Puente Romano complex, so its restaurants and beach club are yours too.

Puente Romano Marbella

The complex itself: fifteen-plus restaurants, botanical gardens and the tennis club, halfway between Banús and Marbella.

Tip: Ask which building — the plaza is the centre of the property and the outer wings are a walk from it.

Hotel Don Pepe Gran Meliá

A Gran Meliá on the Marbella end of the Golden Mile, with sea, garden or mountain views.

Tip: Closer to Marbella old town than to Banús — the opposite trade to the rest of this page.
