- The bay runs from Benidorm through Altea to Calpe. Altea is the whitewashed hill town in the middle with pebble beaches; the hotels with facilities are at either end.

- Altea's old town is the best evening on this coast and worth the tram ride from wherever you sleep. Benidorm's old quarter is the runner-up.
- Transit
- The TRAM line runs Benidorm–Altea–Calpe–Dénia along the coast, so you can base at one end and eat at the other. Alicante Airport is about 45 minutes.
